Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. In her early years she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress when she was just six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. Through a school play as well as the stage of a Stagecoach Production, Emma was the lead at the age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's film debut was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film beat all previous records on the opening weekend and revenues, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Reviewers were awed by the film and its performance. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma was awarded five nominations for her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in an Film.
